Wouldn’t it be glorious to touch your partner with the same lust, care, and attention as you did the first time you met?

But honestly, who has the time? There are school runs to do and houses to organise and you have a full time job. Maybe you don’t even remember the last time you had sex. The relationship which forms the pivot of your world, which was, at the start, based on passion and intimacy and a firm and concrete understanding of the commitment you have towards one another, suddenly turns up last in your list of priorities.

This is a chance specifically designed for partners who get lost in other tasks, for city-folk who want a chance to reconnect with one another, for busy mums and dads.

Come January, The Library Berlin, a learning centre for bodies and beings, will host a 6-week course on touch for couples. Based on the principles of tantra massage and sensuality, this small and intimate course for maximum 4 couples will allow you to book in precious time with your partner, to luxuriate once more in their skin, to commit attention and intention back into your relationship. 2.5 hours every week for 6 weeks to reconnect.

Taster sessions will run from November until Christmas, to introduce you to the facilitator and to the space. Book a spot to come and try it out.

About the facilitator:
Since 2015 Rebecca has been facilitating her own workshops on movement and touch, in which she integrates experience in hatha yoga and iyengar, dance, massage, tandava, somatic bodywork, contact improvisation, BDSM, japanese rope bondage and tantra. She holds spaces where people can experiment with intimacy, boundaries and sensations. She is also a writer, producing fiction and nonfiction journalistic pieces about these spaces and about her work. She holds a Masters degree from Cambridge University and engages both literally and intellectually with the body as a space for political statement and personal investigation.

About the practice:
Whilst tantra is an age old tradition, hailing from the ancients of far eastern shores, ‘tantra massage’ is not. It is a technique, developed in the metropolis of Berlin in the late 1970s, and allows us access to different styles of touch, different arts of listening, and different psycho-emotional states induced through physical contact.

This form of bodywork need not be done naked, but skin on skin contact is welcome, as it does create something beautiful. Something unique that cannot be found in other forms of bodywork and massage. It has an honesty to it, a holistic approach - tantra massage is an inclusion of all body parts, not leaving out the bits that lie beneath the towel, the bits we were told not to touch.

Equally, we are encouraged to ask: what is intimacy for me, for us? What is arousal? Where do I access this now in my body? Where does my partner? It is an opportunity to start anew, to begin again and re-investigate, re-explore the landscape of your partner and your relationship. Where does intimacy come from? How can I encourage it? What is ‘sex’ for me now?

In these hours of guided massage, discussion and bodywork, we will explore our partner in terms of arousal and relaxation through the practical and simple application of skin on skin, or skin on clothes, or clothes on clothes on skin…
Previous experience is not necessary.
